Social Justice
Introduction PDF Print E-mail

The Social Justice Group was started following the decision of the UCCSA Executive Committee meeting in Bulawayo Zimbabwe, in April 2006.  It is a Gauteng based group, with corresponding members from the Synods of Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.

The Social Justice Group is a ‘think tank’ that works with the General Secretary on matters of justice.  The Group seeks to reclaim the role of the UCCSA in advocacy for those who are poor, oppressed and marginalised.  This is done by educating the church about social justice, provision of literature, campaigns, networking and issuing of statements.

The Social Justice Group works with other committees of the Church such as the Theological Commission and the Mission Council.  It is also available to work with local churches, regions and synods on matters of justice.

Those who seek training or workshops on gender justice, environmental justice or racial justice may contact the office of the General Secretary.  The Group is also willing to assist by providing resources on any of these areas.

The Social Justice Group Comprises the following people:

1. Rev. Dr. Moiseraele Prince Dibeela
2. Rev. Bernard Spong
3. Rev. Basil Manning
4. Rev. Cheryl Dibeela
5. Mrs. Veronica Kyle

7. Mr. Dumisani Ncumalo
8. Miss Cynthia Philips
