REV BOOTH HELPS US CREATE HOMES : |
|

|
Rev. Ian Booth was straight to the point, in the third and final address to the Convocation. He spoke about “How to create a home.”
During his presentation, he compared and contrasted the family of Abraham and Sara with the family of Joseph and Mary and concluded that:
♦ The rich and powerful do not necessarily make the best Parents.
♦ The role of parents, adopted or biological, is critical in shaping the nature of the family.
♦ What happens in our families affects our communities.
Rev Booth ended his presentation by saying that a home should:
• Create a safe space for all family members
• Accept people as people and not for children to be seen as future income earners when we grow old.
• Accept people with their similarities and differences.
• Treat everyone as special.
• Have people partaking in decisions which impact on their lives.
• Have people who are committed to justice not ‘Just Us.’
