UCCSA Discussions

Praise and Worship - 2008/08/02 21:36 Hi I am new to the forum

I would like to establish whether the Praise and Worship teams/bands are big in the UCCSA I belong to Praise and Worship team for the last fifteen years and we still have to deal with resistance. I think the UCCSA (maybe not all local churches) is resisting new forms of worship and the rate of change is to slow to keep the youth. I'm not advocating that the UCCSA take on the values of the world however we need to question ourselves in terms of our relevance. I would like to hear your views on the intergration or the lack thereof of Praise and Worship music in Worship service (not before the service starts, during)

Be Blessed in Jesus Name!

Re:Praise and Worship - 2008/08/06 18:05 HI, I am new to the forum. However I would like to indicate that in our church in KIng Willimas Town we are big on music. The question of incorporating it into the total sermon however is another story. We have a live band at every service. It does ensure that the various church members are uplifted before any service. It does set the scene very nicely

Re:Praise and Worship - 2008/09/13 10:28 praise and worship has always been there in our church but done differently i think we should not depend on the instruments(bands) for an effective praise and worship. we should ask ourselves question what is praise and worship , what is it about and why is it important in the life of the church rather than how must it be done.

god bless

Re:Praise and Worship - 2008/09/15 09:56 I Totally agree with Boniswa. Its not about the istruments and style. Worship is an expression of our hearts towards the Lord. If it had anything to do with instruments and sound then the deaf would not be able to worship. Its not the nice music that will please the Lord its committed obedient hearts towards his will
